In the annual CAPS survey, The Metrics of Supply Management 2019, we asked companies to tell us what changes they’re experiencing in their supply management headcount numbers. Here are the results across all industries:
38% of companies said headcount increasedover their most recent reporting year
22% said headcount decreased
40% said headcount remained unchanged

On average, 14% of managed spend is in supplier diversity programs.
Of that, companies targeted this spend toward minority-owned business enterprises (6.5%), women-owned business enterprises (5.9%), and women-owned small businesses (3.6%). But in what categories were those goals attained or surpassed, and where did they fall short?
